Why Ray Bradbury called Halloween ‘better than Christmas’
“I think it’s the best season. Better than Christmas.”
“We have A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, which is all about life and death.”
“Halloween’s all about death and life.”
Notice the reversal.
“Life is very precious at the center of Halloween.
“And we celebrate death in order to learn about life.”
So, why did he write The Halloween Tree and not The Christmas Tree?
“To celebrate the life that I’m grateful for.”
