George Lucas on the Ewoks
The original designs were human-like little men. I wanted to get away from it looking like a man in a furry suit. I wanted it to be a creature unto itself. More and more fur got put on, The eyes got bigger. He was getting to be a very cute creature, A very teddy bear creature, Which first we fought against a great deal. But eventually we dared to be cute.
