My Posthumous Conversation with Ray Bradbury
A rough draft of my future book, ‘Ray Bradbury: How to Live A Creative Life’
Preface & Announcement
Over a year and a half ago, before I started Creative Truths, I spent months reading, watching, and listening to every interview, letter, and speech Ray Bradbury gave that I could possibly find. This ended up totaling nearly 300,000 words, none of which came from his novels, short stories, or other fiction.
I wanted to share what I found. But I felt like what I found was too valuable to risk ruining with my own clumsy language.
So I figured, why not assemble the quotes into a conversation he never had, with questions I invented. I could use his quotes as the answers and arrange everything to present his ideas the best possible way I could.
Today, I’ve decided to write the book I was scared to write. But what follows was my first attempt. I hope it’s good enough to hold you over while I write the full book for you.
